The governor was supposed to offer a carefully considered and balanced budget at the beginning of the year but the latest Nevada supreme court ruling throws out that notion. Sandoval and his minions had no intention of  proposing a sane and balanced budget… it was all “smoke and mirrors” under the guise of “reform” and its cornerstone was outright theft and deception. They knew this and did not care and like most criminals, they thought they could get away with it.

The “No New Taxes” mantra was their cover to lie and steal. It meant they could sit around and point fingers at those trying to say the proposed revenue sources were really tax increases for local governments, and any additional cuts would have real world consequences. However, when you lie and cheat like Sandoval and his supporters you don’t live in reality.

But, I have to remind myself that when the legislature is in session, reality is warped and suspended. Nevertheless, Sandoval and his gang went beyond expected indecent and political behavior. Though I am happy they got caught, I hope for some effective consequences for them such as some prison time. Now that would be some reality to live in!
