Neo-con Delusions
February 28, 2011
Muammar Gaddafi, soon to be ex-leader in Libya is in trouble. His regime is
being threatened and his response is to use his loyal forces, including
those in the air force, to kill fellow citizens. He sees this as an
effective way to stay in power, because violence, including murder worked in
the past. He hopes it will now.
The neocons in the United States want to nation build in our image by
employing our military might and intervene directly. The most extreme neocon
elements are the same ones who insisted there were WMDs in Iraq and said it
was either kill them over there instead of here.
The two neo-lunatics at the front of the line this time are John McCain and
Joe Lieberman who are calling for a no fly zone for the country plus
immediate recognition of the provisional government so we can give them
military aid. There was no talk about medicine and saving lives, only about
killing.
Their proposals will undoubtedly mean the United States involvement in a
no-win civil war. This will not only cost money but also the blood and life
sacrifice of our soldiers.
It is incredibly foolish because U.S. intervention is merely a cover to take
control of Libya's oil and this makes it even more despicable.
It is easier to talk about military action than it is to carry it out as we
have seen in Iraq and Afghanistan. Let's stop the foolishness and ignorance
and not do that again.
