It IS About the “Process”
June 27, 2011
On June 19th, Jon Ralston wrote an article about
the annoying way the legislature handles Nevada’s needs. It is always the
same… they wait until the last-minute to do anything and laws are passed
with very little or no public input. Ralston and said the legislative
process must be fixed. I agree.
The NPRI, a partisan, think tank in Las Vegas responded by
stating it wasn’t the process… it was about political power by
democrats. The NPRI is quite naive and seemingly inexperienced. Also, their
partisan politics seems to get in the way of clear thinking.
Unfortunately, it IS
about the process.
When Raggio, a
republican, was in full political bloom, the legislative process was the
same. There were last-minute maneuverings with laws passed without adequate
review by anyone other than some lobbyists and a couple of legislators. It’s
been this way for decades. It’s not right.
