A six-year-old boy in Grant County, Wisconsin was charged with first degree sexual assault for playing doctor with a 5-year-old girl in his yard. Witnesses say she had her dress and underpants down at her ankles, and he was sitting underneath her playing doctor. The girl consented to this, and her 5-year-old brother also played doctor but neither, she nor her brother will be charged. This is probably because they are the children of a prominent Grant County family.

The district attorney Lisa Riniker, as part of the persecution process, she sent a summons to the boy directly (by passing the parents) declaring he will go to jail if he does not appear regarding the “crime." Apparently, the Wisconsin legislature did not specify an age limit for the law in question so the district attorney feels justified in prosecuting it.

Presumably, the boy reads and understands legalese and will be able to drive down to the courthouse to appear. If convicted, he faces registration as a sex offender until he is 18 years old.

Is this embarrassing to the district attorney? Maybe, because she successfully got a gag order from Judge Bill Dyke to stop the parents from speaking any more about the case after they were interviewed by Chicago's WISC-TV.

The boy's parents claim all this is politically motivated and have filed a federal lawsuit against the district attorney, the county and the county social services agency. They also claim this has caused the boy emotional upset because he thinks he is going to jail.

Not all the facts have come out in this, but it is known that the Grant county district attorney has no common sense. District attorneys offer plea deals to murderers to avoid trials and this district attorney is actively and vigorously prosecuting a 6-year-old boy for sexual assault.

Something isn't right.
