Gaming and Mining – No Difference
February 20, 2011
Gaming and mining are Nevada’s
most powerful welfare queens because they have exclusive state laws which
keep their taxes low and whine when someone suggests they pay their way. So
typical, wanting stuff and expecting everyone else to pay for it.
To support their position they
will say one thing or another and outright lie by twisting the facts but
that’s what welfare queens do. They are not used to paying their way and
have been feeding at the public trough for so many years that they now think
it’s a right. Incredibly and annoyingly they both whine and claim martyrdom
at public hearings.
To make things worse, they
control most of Nevada’s business groups and the state government through
the legislature and the governor. They have millions to spend lobbying to
make sure they get their way and as for the governor, he received
significant support from them during his campaign. So, who do you think
controls the state right now? Realistically it’s them but Constitutionally
it is all Nevadans.
Not quite sure about this? Two
basic examples…
1. Both produce extreme wealth in Nevada and export it.
For mining, their bounty goes to Canada and for gaming it goes to other U.S.
states and countries like Macau and potentially
Spain.
2. Mining after applying those
wonderful and exclusive deductions the state gives them pays just a half
percent in taxes on billions in profits and gaming pays just 5 percent on
the gross, which is the lowest tax rate on earth.
What’s different between mining
and gaming… nothing. So, let’s knock them both off the public teat and give
control to Nevadans for a change!
