GOP Takes Over and Immediately Admits They
Were LyingJanuary 5,
2010
During the 2010 election, Republicans
promised to cut $100 billion a year from the President's budget when they
got into power. Now that they are, they have immediately backed off on their
promises, saying that would be impossible to do. Some say maybe $50 billion
at most, or maybe $30 billion or one day it will be $100. The now some
Republicans say the promises they made were “unrealistic” and aren't going
to happen.
The future chairman of the House Budget
Committee, Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is waffling and will not provide specifics
as to how he will reduce spending by any amount. Even the Teabaggers admit
the promises they and their GOP comrades will be impossible to keep. So much
for honesty.
Then there is “Obama-care” which the House
will repeal next week. The Republicans promised to provide an alternative
that protects Americans and reduces health care costs for the nation which
run about 16 percent of the GDP. Yet they also promise to repeal what they
can but will not allow any amendments to existing law to improve the
legislation as promised. More lies.
It seems a handful of GOP leaders are
consolidating power, using public ignorance and grandstanding. Their purpose
is to unilaterally attack the Democrats on everything in preparation for
2012. They will do this by excluding those who disagree with them including
moderate Republicans and Teabaggers. So much for democracy and transparency.
New boss the same as the old boss.
