End Corporate Welfare Because...
July 18, 2011
The following corporations made billions
in profits but had a negative tax rate, that is they got money back or
scored tax benefits: General Electric, American Electric Power, DuPont,
Verizon Communications, Boeing, Wells Fargo, Fed Ex and Honeywell
International. This is outrageous but it gets worse, Boeing paid no taxes in
the past three years and its representative went to Congress on June 2nd
of this year and demanded a cut in the corporate tax rate.
Billionaire companies think its okay to
make the middle class pay taxes and not them. The Great Recession has
highlighted in inequities between the rich and large corporations. That's
good but now we must do something about it.
Corporate welfare must stop. We can't afford
it and its unfair.
Also, make it a treasonable offense to
avoid paying taxes below 15 percent. Since each corporation now has the same
rights as a person, charge them and take it from there.
