Budget Deal Done – Sandoval Is Still Corrupt
June 5, 2011
On June 1, 2011, the Nevada
legislature and the governor completed a budget deal which means the session
can end on time. Good for them and us.
Unfortunately, the State Employee
tax, which reduces salaries and benefits are now permanent. The tax means
state employees must collectively pay hundreds of millions from their
salaries to balance the budget. (6 furlough days and a 2.5 % pay- cut). No
one wants to seriously talk about that, do they?
Pundits started to use the terms
“negotiation” and “compromised” after the state Supreme Court made
its ruling last week. In the past few days Sandoval actually started talking
and everything. Like he should have done months ago.
I would be surprised if someone
in the main stream media called Sandoval a “statesman” because it would be
wrong. Sandoval was simply in a panic to do his job after he got caught
sleeping on the job, mumbling “No New Taxes” in his sleep. This underscores
the depth of political corruption shown by Sandoval and his minions who
would gladly see the state fail for their political amusement and their “No
New Taxes” mantra.
