A small church in Florida, lead by Terry Jones, is planning to burn the Qur’an on September 11^th as a protest and to make their point that Islam “Is of the Devil” (as they say). Pastor Jones has certainly made his point about how he feels about Islam but his efforts are inflaming many in the Islamic world and this will unnecessarily increase tensions in the United States and most importantly in Afghanistan.

Our soldiers are in more danger because of rising Muslim anger over a possible Qur’an burning by Christians. Though Jones says there is no danger, common sense says there will be.

Now, the top commander in Afghanistan, General, Petraeus says the Qur’an burning plan has inflamed the Afghani population and there are increased threats toward his soldiers.

All this is unacceptable.

Basically, Jones leads a church of terrorists who, for their own religious benefit imperil the lives and safety of our soldiers. This is un-American and anti-Christian.
