Response to a Birther
April 28, 2010
Here is my response to a birther after he
sent me this link
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/22495 :
Obama was born
in Hawaii and is a natural born person. Eligibility is not based on the
father's birth place as suggested. Nor on the mother's birthplace either.
McCain is not
natural born. He was born in Panama and people there are American citizens
by a law and not naturally born. I think McCain was and is ineligible as a
presidential candidate.
For example,
my sister was born in Germany. She is an American citizen by law and
renounced her dual citizenship in 1970. She is not natural born and
therefore is not eligible to be president. McCain is the same as her as far
as birth and eligibility.
The birther
movement was started by Hillary and her people as a tool against McCain.
Repubs just picked up on it for Obama. McCain never brought it up himself
because he knew where it would lead.
I heard about
7 percent of all Repubs in the south don't even believe Hawaii is a state.
Go figure and no wonder this birther thing will never die.
On the
positive side, it is good for the economy because it sells books and
speeches. It lets web hosting companies host websites about this, etc. It is
a living for many and that's good. Just like the Kennedy assassination and
UFOs.
As to the
website. Interesting arguments but I have seen most of what he says on other
websites. There has been an explosion of such sites since Obama was legally
elected.
Thanks for the
web link. I will bookmark it and go back occasionally see if there is more
to read.
I sure wish
there would be a Supreme Court ruling on this... not to settle things but to
get things riled up. Birthers have got to get over the fact that a black man
was elected. They really do, but again... if you can make money from this or
if it helps get it out of your system to talk and read about it, then that's
okay too.
