Liz Cheney the Terrorist Tool
March 8, 2010
Liz Cheney thinks Justice
Department lawyers who defended terrorists in court should be called the “Al
Qaeda 7”, saying directly that what they did was un-American and even
terrorist in principle and scope. She used the “Keep America Safe” website
to further her un-American principles and generate support.
However, what she did was to
clarify her own terrorist tendencies which are to repudiate the principles
of American democracy delineated in the Constitution with its Bill of
Rights.
She wants to form a lynch mob
that wants no trials or due process for anyone suspected of terrorism.
Summary execution would probably be fine with her. She does not understand
that everyone accused of a crime deserves a vigorous defense and are
presumed innocent.
Our history supports the concept
of due process even under extreme circumstances. It started with John Adams
in 1770 who defended some British soldiers accused of killing five civilians
during the Boston Massacre. No one would represent them until Adams did. Of
the eight charged, six were acquitted and the remaining two were convicted
of manslaughter and not murder as originally charged.
He knew all of the accused needed
fair trials which were impossible without adequate legal counsel. Adam's
actions were noble and democratic.
Attorneys who defend those
charged with terrorism are not themselves terrorists as Liz Cheney implies.
And American due process is not a terrorist tool as she thinks.
Liz Cheney seems to be
a terrorist tool.
When she attacks the
Department of Justice attorneys she attacks American principles and rule of
law like terrorists do. Except Liz Cheney wants to do her terrorist work
from within our democracy using the cover of patriotism.
Her actions are
woefully shameful and un-American. A true patriot would support American
principles of law and not disparage them like a Muslim terrorist.
If one day she or her
father were charged with a crime, they would expect and deserve legal
counsel, something she would deny others.
