The rise of the Christian Taliban is unabated. Our religious fundamentalists and zealots infected our society centuries ago but with modern communications, their fetid message more easily spreads and infects others, from one generation into the next.

They are like their Islamic brothers and sisters who believe their way is the only way and murder, violence and degradation are great ways to get attention and control. They both want a theocracy based on their perverted religious ideals. People like this are everywhere and at all levels of our society. Let's not forget who came before the three mentioned below.

On February 22, Virginia State delegate Bob Marshall (R-Manassas) while speaking at a press conference opposing state funding for planned Parenthood, said that disabled children are god's punishment. Here are his words:

“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children. In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”

Congressman, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said this about the actions of a man who purposely crashed his small plane into an office building in Austin, TX, targeting the IRS on February 18th:

"It’s sad the incident in Texas happened, but by the same token, it’s an agency that is unnecessary and when the day comes when that is over and we abolish the IRS, it’s going to be a happy day for America. “

Lauren Ashley, the current “Miss Beverly Hills”, said this February 24^th:

“The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. In Leviticus it says, ‘If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood shall be upon them.’ The Bible is pretty black and white.”
