Shameful Rewrite of History
December 27, 2009
Mary Maitlin, Republican
strategist said this on CNN today:
“I
was there, we inherited a recession from President Clinton and we inherited
the most tragic attack on our own soil in our nation’s history. And
President Bush dealt with it and within a year of his presidency within a
comparable time, unemployment was at 5 percent.”

Apparently she was not there or
completely unaware. Her misstatements are shameful and she should know
better.
There was no recession before
Bush took over but there was one after the 9/11 attacks when Bush was in
power. Bush did not inherit a recession or attack on our soil as she claims.
She is trying to white wash the Bush years with lies and it won't work.
Facts will win out.
Her statement shows she has
adopted the Nazi Propaganda Minster Josef Goebbels' philosophy of telling
big lies over and over. This is what he said years ago:
"If you tell a lie
big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.
The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the
people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie.
It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to
repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by
extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."
Maybe Mary Maitlin is a Nazi at
heart.
