Rush Limbaugh is a Dumbshit about Universal Health Care
September 10, 2009
There
is no question among clear thinking people that Rush Limbaugh likes to
“shoot from the hip” during his radio shows where he says things that make
little sense, and makes up things when he could have easily found out the
truth.
The
latest in Rush’s show shots was about a 9th grader asking
President Obama about health care. This is what the student said:
“Hi,
my name is Sean. And my question is, currently 36 countries have
universal health coverage, including Iraq and Afghanistan, which have it
paid for by the United States. Why can’t the United States have
universal health coverage?”

Rush’s response on his show on
September 9th was:
“Now
if this question isn’t a plant, I don’t know what is. This is yesterday
in a Q&A before Obama gave his speech to his young skulls full of mush
at the Wakefield High School. He spoke with the ninth graders there….You
tell me if this question isn’t a plant, I don’t know what is…Now where
does a high school ninth grader come up with the notion that they have
universal health coverage in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“That’s
some leftist drivel that a teacher is pumping into their heads. Can you
imagine the president of the United States asked by a ninth grader how
come our healthcare is not as good as it in Afghanistan? How come our
healthcare is not as good as in Iraq, as though universal coverage
equals good healthcare?”

The
facts are that the United States provided universal health care for Iraq
starting in 2004 at a cost of nearly a trillion dollars. At the time, the
Bush administration said universal health was a right. Health care for
Afghans is pending.
Yet
Rush, and his supporters do not believe spending that kind of money on
Americans is useful and they do not believe it is a right.
It is
easy for him to believe that, he can buy all the care he needs or wants.
What about the working poor? They are people who work hard each day for an
employer who cannot or will not provide health insurance. They pray each day
that they don’t get sick. That’s no way to live.
The
question was probably a plant but Rush missed the point…. America does not
have universal health care when Iraq does.
