How Far Southern Republican Hate
and Ignorance Can Go
December 6, 2009
On December 2, 2009, the mayor of
Arlington, TN, Russell Wiseman claimed President Obama purposely preempted
the Charlie Brown Christmas special with his scheduled Afghanistan War
speech.

This is what the Mayor posted on
his now defunct Facebook account:
"Ok, so, this is
total crap, we sit the kids down to watch 'The Charlie Brown Christmas
Special' and our muslim president is there, what a load.....try to convince
me that wasn't done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ
is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute disertation (sic) about
it....w...hen the answer should simply be 'yes'...."
He also posted this:
"...you obama people
need to move to a muslim country...oh wait, that's America....pitiful."
Yeah... its all about Wiseman and
his family, the President has it in for them and won again by preempting his
favorite Christmas show. Wiseman just
another right wing Christian nut but the problem is this ... he was elected
as mayor so there are many who believe as he does.
If the TV show is that
important to him he can go buy a DVD of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and quit
complaining. The Afghanistan War is more important than a TV show but in his
warped world, complaining about and hating Obama preempts everything.
Wiseman wisely refused
to answer questions about his post and removed his Facebook account but
someone added a group called, “Support
Russell Wiseman”. The ignorance and dumbness never ends. But, it's their
right to be that way.
There is also an opposing Facebook group
called:
Tell Russell Wiseman to Respect Charlie Brown and our President.
