Relationship Rumor

On February 20th the New York Times published
an article which stated John McCain had a romantic relationship in 2000 with
female lobbyist much his junior. It went on to say his aides believed it to
be a romantic one and tried to keep McCain from pursuing it further.
Both McCain and the woman have denied any romantic
relationship.
Because a newspaper says something is true does not make
it so. The article is very general and does not have specific details about
the relationship which could make a person confident that it was true or
not. The newspaper should know better than to do this without substantive
proof.
Their actions seem like a drive-by… shoot at a target and
hope something bad happens.
Their article will generate lots of unimportant chatter
for a while but it should die down. What is important is that McCain as
President, would keep us in an illegal war for a 100 years and might follow
through on his desire to bomb Iran. He would keep up illegal domestic spying
and fear mongering and that would be bad.
News outlets need to report on that.
