Vitter - What is Wrong With Christianity

July 14, 2007

David Vitter, a Republican Louisiana Senator was on a sex client phone list and he was recently exposed as a john. Subsequently he admitted he had a  "very serious sin in my past,"  and declared his wife, Wendy and God had forgiven him for being unfaithful. There have been no comments from either to substantiate his claim.

The political reaction to the Vitter scandal was typical of the GOP whose members immediately rallied to his side asking people to forgive him. Incredible! With dozens of corrupt and perverted Republicans being exposed in the past couple years, they probably support Vitter now because they will need it later.

The problem with Vitter is the way he conducted himself outside a $300 per hour hotel room. He wrapped the pages of the Bible around him as a spiritual and moral shield and acted as if he was sent from God to let everyone else know how to act.

For example, he asked President Clinton to resign because of a sex scandal and also attacked Bob Livingstone a Congressman for his sexscapade. He said there must be sanctity and fidelity in marriage and demanded politicians be ethical. He also encouraged sexual abstinence for unmarried people and was against gay marriage.

And what about Vitter's wife, Wendy who, after Hillary Clinton accepted Bill after the Lewinski affair? She said, "I'm a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary. If he [Vitter] does something like that, I'm walking away with one thing, and it's not alimony, trust me.”

Her self righteous statement rings hollow since her husband is presumed to be intact. She too, is just another lying Christian bullshitter wrapped in Biblical morality.

Vitter is a galling son of a bitch, so is his wife. Hypocrisy can not adequately define them but they certainly define Christianity which claims morality while being immoral. It is demanding others submit to their version of faith to make it to Heaven. It is condemning others for being human but succumbing to the flesh and rationalizing it is okay because they are forgiven.

Pitifully, this is the state of Christianity today. It is controlled by people who only want power, money and the freedom to do what they like. They believe they are blessed and chosen and damn you if you disagree with them. Unfair? Sure, life isn’t fair but know that God always judges fairly and Christians should start to worry about that and a "holy" book will not help them.
