To Bush about the
Iraq
War

You are scheduled to
give a speech about your “new” Iraq War plan on January 10th and
most Americans will not expect much except the same old bullshit about how
our troops are dying for a noble cause and how America and Iraq must work
together to end the violence and bring peace to Iraq and the region. You
will also propose to spend billions more on a failed war. You have to
be kidding! Do you have any tangible connection with reality?
Your speech will be more
of the same bullshit you have been slinging since 2001 and the sorry
thing will be the new Democratic Congress which will not be able or willing
to stop the carnage because of politics.
At least one American
needs to make a few comments about the Iraq War and they are:
You have not seriously
heard or considered arguments for a change in the Iraq War nor have you
heard the American people who overwhelmingly want out of
Iraq. Unfortunately you
have made up your mind to stay the course with more soldiers with more death
and destruction. Your “new” war plan is escalation and it means nothing but more of the same.
Our soldiers have given
up so much and they deserve better than you or your new defense secretary or
generals. Their sacrifice is an important reminder of the cost in blood and
lives for your war folly. You do not care, so stop say saying you do. You
have not sacrificed so stop using the word.
Iraq is now the center
of terrorism after you started the Iraq War, not before. Trying to
mix up words and semantics will not make your lies true, not now and not
ever, so stop lying about it or bringing it up.
You cannot expect the
government of
Iraq to see things your way; they will only act in their interest. Right
now, they want America to fight and expend its resources so they don’t have
to. They will never meet any goal or milestone you might want. They will not
train and fight along side of our soldiers except to occasionally show they
are cooperating to get more money and support. Stop the insanity and tell
them to "go to hell.".
Keeping our soldiers in
a civil war was something you said you would not do. You promised to pull
them out and now you want to add more. What a liar you are! Hundreds have
died since your worthless promise. How could you?
Saying you want a
democracy in Iraq is not a plan to succeed, a noble goal but not a plan.
Staying the course these past years is also not a plan so stop saying it is.
End the Iraq War and do
it now. Now THAT is a goal for a great plan.
