Shame
on the Religious Right
March 4, 2007
More than six years ago, the “religious right” an
eclectic group of fundamentalist Christians had one purpose … to put in
power “one of their own”. His name is George Bush, a person they felt and
continue to feel, is a Christian, blessed by God and who will do their
bidding in the “name of Jesus”.
Bush has used the religion card to call his faithful to
his defense when he lies and makes mistakes. He also calls on them to
politicize their faith for more power and to support his (and their) goal of creating a U.S.
Christian theocracy.
Unfortunately, theocracies are faith based fascism and
can appear in many forms such as “Islamofacism”. And now, U.S.
Christofacists have appeared in the United States because they have an
Administration very willing to fervently support their
Biblical end-world scenario. Because of their Christian faith, they see
nothing wrong about the Iraq War. For the “religious right”, death and
destruction are just part of the process toward a Christian end.
Shame! Shame on them all! How can they not understand
that human life is more precious than their warped religion.
Fortunately, the Iraq War shows what the “religious
right” really is ... a group of murderous thugs hiding behind a religion
which tells them they have a ticket to heaven if they just believe in Jesus.
This makes Christofacists as much our enemy as Islamofacists.
No amount of praying will remove the evil stain on their
souls.
