Destruction of the United States

January 30, 2007

In the future, probably within 10 years there will only be two superpowers, the United States and China.  While we are destroying our credibility and using our resources to make war and buy stuff, China has been doing two things.

One...

Developing an economy that meets the needs of its people and one where its growth surpasses that of any other nation and puts it in direct competition with the United States. They have been successful with this already. They have made economic alliances to make sure this happens to their benefit and to "help" other nations like those in Africa. This breaks or weakens diplomatic relationships the United States has, especially since Bush doesn't believe in diplomacy but they do. It is one of their "secret" weapons.

and  Two....

They have pulled back from a traditional defense buildup involving more bombs or missiles like in the Cold War. They are targeting those things which can be implemented quickly and effectively and for which the United States is not as prepared, namely EMP weapons, laser weapons for space and cyberwarfare. Each are relatively inexpensive to build and deploy. Where the United States uses might and a big stick, they use finesse.

For example it only takes a well written piece of computer code properly unleashed to bring down the United States electrical or financial systems. The United States would bomb the hell out of a nation's infrastructure instead of finessing it like China with some code, not realizing that it doesn't take a overt military response to be effective.

China is counting on the United States being diverted by using military might as if this will solve problems. It won't. And while we waste our recourses, China gets stronger and one day will control the resources we will need, especially energy. When that comes, we will have few friends left but many enemies or countries neutral to our survival as a nation.

Bush does not care but more frightening is that he does not understand.
