Bush Has Failed Us on
Terror
July 11, 2007
Recently, the Bush administration has made statements
that their intelligence shows al Qaeda is up to something and an attack
within the United States is a possibility this summer.
That’s nice, real nice.
It sounds like more fear mongering to deflecting
attention from Bush’s problems with Congress. The fact is, al Qaeda is
always a threat and very likely has terrorist cells within the U.S. and to
put all this in terms of a possible imminent credible threat is dishonest
and political.
Bush’s terrorism dishonesty started in 2001, before 911
when he had several opportunities to attack bin Laden and possibly kill him
but did not. Further, intelligence back then showed “increased chatter”
meaning an imminent attack was possible and incredibly Bush was given a
report that specifically mentioned a strike by terrorists using aircraft.
Bush did nothing in 2001. Bush did not protect us then
and he will not protect us now. He reacts politically and does not care of
the consequences, even if Americans die.
Since 911, Bush has used the threat of terror as a tool
to engender fear which keeps everyone on edge and willing to go along with
what he wants. What he wanted the most was an attack on Iraq and he got it
after lying about the reasons for war against a country he said was
contained and not a threat. No wonder a big lie was necessary.
Now the civil war in Iraq is a hotbed of terrorism and
terrorists such as al Qaeda. The war rallies groups against a common enemy,
America. Unfortunately terrorists are now in Iraq when they were not there
before the U.S. invasion. al Qaeda is stronger than before 911. It now
has significant outposts in Iraq and Afghanistan with headquarters in
Pakistan. Bin laden certainly has an ally in Bush.
Finally, Bush further supports terrorism by failing to
effectively protect our homeland though spending billions pretending to do
so. Basically, most things entering the US are not checked for bombs and
other threats. Most significantly people are not checked except for those
flying on planes.
What we fail to understand that Bush is a terrorist
supporter using his own brand of terrorism to do it. If they attack us
again, it will be Bush's fault.
