Black
Racists Support Vick
August 25, 2007
On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King gave his famous “I
have a dream speech” in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
There are a couple passages appropriate today as it relates to the football
player Michael Vick. They are:
In the process of
gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us
not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of
bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high
plane of dignity and discipline.
and
I have a dream that my four little children will
one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their
skin but by the content of their character.

Too many blacks, including the NAACP have been blindly
vociferous about their support of Vick. They ignore the allegations of
animal abuse in his dog fighting business and claim he is being unfairly
treated because he is black. They clearly and repeatedly imply a racist
reason for any charges or criticism against him. Their racism blinds them to
the truth.
The issue here is what Vick did or did not do. It is also
about the content of character.
Vick lied when he said he had nothing to do with dog
fighting at his home. He admitted his role later and plead guilty. He is a
criminal with a bad character not worthy of emulation or support. His
actions were despicable and inhumane and show a demonic element of his soul.
By coming to his aid and immediately dealing the “race
card”, Vick’s supporters are racist and deluded. They have not approached
this in a dignified way nor with discipline as King admonished. They drink
from the cup of bitterness and hatred of whites.
They accuse and now must stand accused as Vick is…. of
having bad character.
Shame on them.
