That’s Right … Resign
October 8, 2006
Though many
Republicans have deluded themselves into believing Hastert immediately
responded to the Foley Affair, they are wrong. Hastert indeed responded but
only when he had to. He knew, more than a year ago that Foley was a pervert
using his position of power in Congress to seek out relationships with boys
and young men, some of whom were Congressional pages.
Those who
cannot understand the significance of this need to sit down and really think
about why they are so disconnected from reality and morality. It seems most
Republicans, and their appeasers have no clue. Except for one, named Tom
Davis, a Republican from Virginia. His statement today was:
"Anybody that hindered
this in any kind of way, tried to step in the way of hiding this,
covering it up, is going to have to step down. Whoever that is," said
Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va.

The man has it right and everyone, no matter what
party who has had some knowledge of the Foley case before the press
publicized it must resign. No exceptions. People who knew but did nothing
are supporters of perverts and support power over the powerless. Thuggery no
less.
The Republican leadership is sorely lacking and
their supporters have the same morals they have. They provide
rationalizations and blaming others, even Clinton shows how pitifully
intellectually deficient they are.
All this, makes one wonder whether Dennis Hastert
actually works for the Democrats. Every day he refuses to resign, every day
he claims innocence and every day he blames others means the Dems gain
power.
This shows the depths of political depravity
within the Republican Party. Anything to stay in power. Unbelievable!
