Rape It is Always the Woman’s Fault

Deep down most Americans blame women for their rapes. Comments about what she should have or could have done to prevent the assault are all too common. The U.S. has had this attitude since its beginning because of its Judeo-Christian roots and the rules supposedly created from the bible.

At Christianity's core is a set of ingrained rules that subject women to male dominance and thereby devalues them as people.  Rules such as requiring women to submit to her husband, and the husband being the Godhead are examples of this subjugation. In doing this, Christianity makes women less than human and makes abusing them acceptable because the bible says so.

Astonishingly, most Americans, even women have few objections to this scheme. They erroneously accept anti-female religious tenants and associated interpretations as the "word of God", proving religion is a very powerful tool in controlling half of humanity.

However, the Judeo-Christian society is not the only one that thinks this way. Muslims also have a deep seated loathing of women and the need to control them but they tend to have a more direct way of saying it to like minded men in mosques.

Recently, a Muslim cleric from Egypt while addressing a group of rapists newly released from prison in Sydney, Australia said they were not entirely to blame for their crimes. He declared that women were the reason they raped and referred to women who venture outside their homes in western wear as “weapons of Satan” and “uncovered meat” a cat would eat.

He later apologized for his remarks and said he was only talking about extramarital sex. Apparently his reasoning is that since rape in extramarital sex, then it is obviously it is the woman's fault because being a woman she caused a man to rape her and also did this  outside of the sanctity of marriage.

Muslim logic is unfathomable. It is also stupid and insane. Their is logic is very much like Christian logic, especially in fundamentalist churches.

This is from the “Daily Mail”, an Australian newspaper on October 26, 2006 in an article called, “Outrage as Muslim cleric likens women to 'uncovered meat'”  written by Richard Shears:

Sheik al-Hilali added: "If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it..whose fault is it - the cats or the uncovered meat?

"The uncovered meat is the problem."

He went on: "If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab (veil), no problem would have occurred."

The reaction by Australia’s leaders, all men, was swift and clear but unfortunately no female leader or advocate group came out to condemn the cleric. Why were they silent?

Hatred of women is apparent in both Christian and Muslim societies. Maybe female self hatred too. Both use religion to devalue and dehumanize women by making outrageous statements and rules they will not apply to themselves. To them, a woman who breaks the rules deserves what she gets including rape and is therefore responsible for the assault. It also makes the rapist the victim.

When men and women believe females are less than human, it green lights their physical, emotional and psychological abuse. Rules that devalue women are based on evil and wickedness. This is unacceptable in any country, society or religion.

As to Sheik al-Hilali …. Put a pink hijab on him and send him back on a commercial flight to Egypt. He deserves no respect as a man. Through his words, he proves he has an evil soul and does not deserve to live in any civilized society. Frankly, most priests, ministers and pastors don’t either.
