Racist Christians on
the Attack Supported by the White House

On December 19th,
Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) statements about Muslims started controversy by
writing a letter about Muslims and Muslim representative-elect Keith
Ellison's (D-MN) decision to be sworn in on the Koran during a private
ceremony. Here is what he wrote:
"[I]f
American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on
immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and
demanding the use of the Koran. And
I fear
that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States
if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are
necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United
States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped.

Goode is a racist bigoted Christian jerk. His attack on
Muslims implies that anyone other than a Christian like himself is not
really American and not entitled become or be a citizen with Constitutional
protections of free speech and freedom of religion.
What makes this even more incredible is the White House
stated it was aware of Goode and his bigotry but it would not make a
judgment. By doing this, they support Goode’s the notion that only
Christians belong in Congress, Muslims are un-American and the Bible is the
only acceptable book for private swearing-in ceremonies.
What most Christians and perhaps the White House do not
know is that no book of any sort is required for the official swearing-in
ceremony which simply requires a public affirmation with a hand raised.
Later, newly sworn politicians can swear on whatever they want. Using a
Koran is legal and acceptable as is the Bible.
Elected representatives are required to publicly swear to
uphold and defend the Constitution but Representative Goode doesn’t seem to
understand that. And if he doesn’t understand, then he needs to be impeached
soon after he takes office.
As for the White House, we already know they ignore
Constitutional protections and are not defending Americans as they have
sworn to do.
