Lies about Iraq and Terrorism Show the Immorality of Republicans
September 15, 2006
The Senate intelligence committee recently released a
report about the lead up to the Iraq War. They conclude in their report that
there was no connection between Iraq and al Qaeda and thereby confirms again
that Bush and Cheney lied about the connection between Iraq, al Qaeda and
911.
Most unfortunate for our country, is that their "tragic
intelligence failure" has led to terrorists going into Iraq to help
insurgents and foreign fighters to wreck havoc and death. It seems Bush and
Cheney are helping the terrorists and are not serious about the “War on
Terror”.
Bush lied about Iraq because he wanted to invade a country he personally did
not like. Though he planned the invasion just days after entering the White
House, he continues say he did not and makes pitiful generalizations to
avoid the truth about why we are now there and why we are in such a military
and financial mess.
The Iraq-al Qaeda connection was spoken as truth by the Administration and
unfortunately most Americans will continue to believe it even after reports
and facts point it out as a lie.
In response to the truth, Republicans now call it "old news" as if they knew
all along there was no connection. If they knew they should have told the
truth years ago but getting elected was more important. Bush and his
Republican friends must think dead and maimed soldiers are no big deal.
The liars in the White House and Congress will not face any discipline or
even censure. They lied because they knew would get away with it; After all,
they are in total control of our democracy. This shows the immorality of our
United States leadership.
Americans deserve better.
