Illegal
Immigrants Don’t Get It
May 1, 2006
Millions of illegal immigrants and their supporters
started rallies this year to show Americans and Congress that they are here
to stay and we had better get used to it. They also demanded legal reforms
to give them blanket amnesty. They haven’t been successful… so far.
In the latest tactic, illegal immigrant supporters called
for a nationwide walkout on May1st to show how important to illegals are to
the economy. The following statement shows their vehemence and
divisiveness:
"What you will witness (Monday) is history in the
making, when people will follow their own convictions, their own
passions, their own determination in their push for legalization," said
Armando Navarro, coordinator of the National Alliance for Human Rights
in California. "The intent is to show in one day that we have the
purchasing power to paralyze and cripple the U.S. economy."

What we now have is a formal call to terrorize Americans
by paralyzing and crippling our economy. This is unacceptable.
Illegals must not decide the future of our country and have no right to say
how our government is run. Yet they think this is their country and
we must bend to their will.
Illegals do jobs that most lower income Americans
would accept if wages were higher. Illegals depress wages because
businesses owners who hire them are content to pay low wages in cash without
paying taxes legitimate business must pay. This conspiracy started in the
early 1970s in growing fields of California and has culminated in today's
terrorist threats.
Existing immigration laws should have been enforced long
ago, but the Bush administration ignored them to benefit their business
allies. They were hoping the number of illegals would grow and become so
large that little else could be done except to give them amnesty.
Let's stop this.
It has been illegal to hire undocumented workers for
twenty years. Let’s enforce our laws and start to publically pressure
businesses who hire them. The INS must start doing their job with raids as
in the past and consumers must boycott businesses which illegally hire
workers.
The May 1st walkout will have little economic impact
because illegal immigrants and their supporters think they have more
influence than they do. They just don’t get it. The real power lies with
legal residents and U.S. citizens who can pressure the government to expel
those who take more than they give back to our society. It is only the right
thing to do.
