Happy Nevada Day!

October 31, 2006

Let's not forget when Nevada became a state ... October 31, 1864.

Nevadans have celebrated this day since 1939 but no more.

It seems our politicians and businesses have forgotten the when or why of "Nevada Day" and don't care.

Nevada Day isn't necessarily the last Friday of October as the law says, it is always on October 31st.

Unfortunately, it is now just another a three day weekend and the actual day has been lost to Halloween.

Again,

Happy Nevada Day!

Jim

NOTE: This was sent as an e-mail to others and to Nevada Republican Governor Kenny Guinn who thought a three day weekend for businesses was a better idea than to keep the tradition of Nevada Day.
