Gibbons - But She Came with the House

October 25, 2006

Jim Gibbons the unqualified candidate for Nevada Governor for 2006 has been in trouble recently for allegedly assaulting a cocktail waitress in a Las Vegas garage and now he has difficulties with an illegal maid who worked at his home in the late 1980s. It is always about women with him.

In 1987, when Gibbons bought his current Las Vegas house an illegal alien maid was working there.  His response was to keep her, after all she came with the house. So, why not keep her?

The maid said she worked for them for years and occasionally she had to hide in the basement when “certain people” came over to the house. Why? The Gibbons family feared the maid who came with the house would be discovered and that just wouldn't do.

They even worked up a contract promising to pay her $800 a month though they knew she was an illegal alien. Now they say she really did not work for them. This is what Dawn Gibbons said of her servant:

I befriended Ms. Sandoval and she performed occasional odd jobs in my home 1987... although I never considered her an employee.

Yeah, right! Sounds like a “he said-she said”, like the garage thing in Las Vegas Jim Gibbons wishes would disappear.

Most Americans know it is illegal to knowingly hire an illegal alien and it is illegal to pay an employee without documenting it because taxes have to be paid. Apparently Jim and Dawn Gibbons knew the laws but willlingly violated them.

Now, they are handing out excuses like halloween candy, except what they are dishing out is bullshit and an unacceptable treat. The even say it is Dina Titus’ fault. Oh, please. Dina didn’t write a job contract or pay an illegal maid. Her house probably did not come with a maid like theirs did.

Jim and Dawn need to stand together in their bathroom, shake off the garage dust and look into their mirror to see the real creeps who caused all this furor. If they can’t do this, then they do not deserve to be in any elective office. Maybe it is they who should hide in the basement this time… permanently.

Hopefully "certain people", the Nevada voters are coming over to kick them in the butt.
