Comatose
in the White House
February 22, 2006
When Katrina hit six
months ago, Bush was not informed and nor did he care to be. He was out
making speeches and collecting donations for the Republican Party. Bush
firmly and incredibly claimed ignorance about how bad the devastating storm
was, yet millions of Americans realized what was going on.
Comatose in the White House.
Donations to the Republican Party are more important than America.
Then, Cheney unintentionally
shoots a fellow hunter while on a hunting trip in Texas and Bush is not
notified. Cheney doesn't inform the press directly; he has a ranch owner do
it for him. Bush again claimed ignorance showing that Cheney is really in
charge and Bush is afraid of him.
Comatose. Political fear is
more important than America.
Now, control of six ports
has been secretly transferred to a company owned by Dubai in mid February.
This is not a company in Dubai but a front company for the
government of Dubai which has not been the best ally in our "War on
Terror". It recognized the Taliban (and therefore Al Qaeda) and
successfully helped bin Laden and his allies transfer money through its
banking system and probably still does. Even Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld
said he did not know about the deal! Though Bush said he was ignorant of the
port deal, he immediately supported it anyway and threatened a veto if
Congress interfered with it.
Comatose. Secret money deals
in the Middle East are more important than America.
Politically explosive
reactions to Arab controlled port security, lack of response to Katrina, or
a shooting by the V.P. are not the real problems here. The fundamental
danger is that Bush does not care to be informed or in control, nor does he
care to do his job. He is more interested in self image and not substance.
Comatose. Republican
politics and money are more important than Americans.
Bush's Comatose Doctrine
works for him but it is bad news for Republicans facing re-elections this
year and in the future. The Republican Party's most loyal voters are just
now beginning to understand that Bush and his allies have not been seriously
interested in America or its national security. They are more interested in
themselves.
The only good thing to come
from all this is that loyal Republican voters are awakening to this reality.
