Chicks to People
May 11, 2006
On May 10th, at the Ponderosa High School
south of Parker Colorado, a male student took a bag of 45 chicks to a second
floor balcony and tossed them out to the floor below. Seven chicks died and
the survivors are safe from further cruelty.
Luckily, the crime was caught on video tape and school
officials believe they can identify the student. They promise to discipline
him and send their information to their sheriff's department.
Certainly, school discipline will set an example for
other students and show there are consequences for bad acts done at school.
However, the boy must be charged criminally to show this type of behavior is
unacceptable in a civilized society.
The unidentified male student obviously has it in him to
easily injure and kill chicks. With such a lack of character and morality,
it would be a short step for him to be cruel to people, especially those
smaller than him such as children and women.
This act is not “just a prank”.
It is a crime and a warning to the community to protect
themselves from such a person. The student is despicable and sociopathic. He
must be effectively punished and controlled so it won’t happen again. His
criminal record will be a way to track him and to hopefully prevent future
bad acts like torture or murder of human beings.
