Bush's popularity and confidence ratings are very low. Now, Bush says the
government has thwarted 10 terrorist attacks, several within the United
States. Then on cue, and to make a point, there was an incident at Penn
Station about a potential terrorist attack and the Republican Mayor made it
very public. This is just more fear mongering.
Most
believed the threat to Penn Station was false and at the best, very dubious.
The Republican mayor in New York said it didn't matter, there had to be a
response to protect the public. Nonsense. Every community has threats every
day and don't call out all resources to respond. They just go about their
business to find out before they speak or make it very public.
The
terrorist threats rise when Bush is in trouble. It has been a pattern
whenever the administration wants to look good or divert attention.
The
threats, the response and Bush bragging about how he protected us from
attacks are simply diversions from the immediate issues facing Bush and his
Republican supporters right now which are:
The pending indictments of Karl Rove and Scooter Libby for leaks within
the White House. No matter how one twists words and their meaning, they
did damage to our intelligence system and our country for Bush's
political gain.
Bush's continuing poor handling of the illegal war in Iraq, its pending
civil war, and increasing attacks on our soldiers and civilians. The
public's realization that Iraq is a training ground for terrorists.
The very poor poll numbers which not only makes Bush look bad but also
his supporters, especially those running for re-election next year.
The selection of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court which has got even
his best supporters in an uproar questioning Bush's statement that she
was the best person for the job.
Bush
needs to pray to his fake god for help with all the stuff pending between
now and the end of the year. Having his friends in new York to fake a
terrorist incident will not help him.
