Nevada
Republicans - Yet Again, Ethically Challenged
March 13, 2005
Nevada Republicans in the past few months have been
revealed as unethical by specific examples such as:
Nevada Controller Kathy
Augustine (R), Impeached but let go by the Republican controlled Nevada
Senate. (December 2004)
Jim Gibbons (R) One of Nevada's Representatives to
Congress was caught lying and plagiarizing then spinning to cover himself.
(February -March 2005)
Nevada State Senator Barbara Cegavske, (R) from Las Vegas,
was a consultant while serving in the State Legislature. She was oblivious
to the conflict of interest. She finally resigned her consultant's job.
(February-March 2005)
Now we have Nevada
Senator Sandra Tiffany, (R) from Las Vegas who just got legislation passed
to make legal the things she was illegally doing. She was selling
surplus government equipment for the City of North Las Vegas on eBay without
a DMV dealer's license. The DMV told her to stop, so she wrote
legislation (S.B.
55) to eliminate the license requirement thereby getting them off her
back. She says this is not a problem and does not see anything in her
actions as a conflict of interest. After Tiffany testified on her
bill, Senator Dennis Nolan (R)- Las Vegas, Chair of the Transportation
Committee got the bill passed on March 10, 2005. He said though Tiffany's
actions seem in conflict, they really aren't.
Oh brother! She and he have got to be kidding!
Again, no matter what Republicans say, this is a conflict of
interest. This shows they have absolutely no ethics and are immoral.
Again, Nevada Republicans don't have a clue.
