Karl Rove a Bush Liability

July 11, 2005

The name of a CIA agent was illegally leaked by someone in the Bush administration in the summer of 2003. Bush reacted in September that the leak was unacceptable and the person responsible would be dealt with, that is presumably fired. Subsequently in early October, Scott McClellan, the White House pres secretary said who ever leaked the name would be fired. He was speaking for Bush.

We now know Rove was the source of the leak.

It is now time for Bush to fulfill his promise to get rid of the person who committed the criminal act, that is fire Rove. But it doesn’t look good that this will happen. The White House is now refusing to discuss the issue or even react officially to these new revelations.

Scott McClellan had a bad day on July 11th. The press repeatedly pointed out what he said in 2003 and asked when Rove would be fired.  McClellan refused to answer press questions. Karl Rove could be criminally charged,  yet, what we see is White House stonewalling and dishonesty.  This shows they support criminal activity by White House employees.

In 2003, Bush and McClellan found it to their advantage to enthusiastically and publically comment about the leak at the start of the investigation and now say it would be inappropriate to comment now because of the "on-going investigation"! This sordid affair reveals even more of the dark side of the Administration and Bush's malignant hypocrisy.

Rove must be "dealt with" as Bush promised and this is what he needs to do:

Immediately remove Rove’s security clearance. Our national security demand it in time of war and then

Ask Rove to resign to prevent more political damage to the Administration and  fire him if he doesn't.

This would be the honest and honorable approach worthy of publicity. But Bush won’t do this because he has a criminal mind and will support Rove no matter what. Morally, Bush sees nothing wrong with Rove's actions and neither do most of his supporters.

Years ago, Bush senior fired Rove from his campaign because he spread lies and was involved in unscrupulous political activities. Too bad junior doesn’t "get it" like his dad.
