Good Things After the Bad
March 15, 2005
Bush and company started a war in Iraq based on lies
about weapons of mass destruction, connections with Al Qaeda and nuclear
materials. He and his supporters claim those who still point this out
after all this time, are just whiners. In response they usually list all the
goods things after the Iraq invasion such as an election, rebuilt schools,
and more personal freedoms.
The good from the aftermath of the invasion, does not
make up for the 1,515 plus American deaths or the tens of thousands of Iraqi
civilian dead.
Bush supporters believe when good things happen after the
bad, the bad stuff must be forgiven, ignored or forgotten. They also don't
want any complaining and call you un-American!
Ridiculous!
Based on this warped logic, it would be okay to ignore
what Brian Nichols the mass murderer from Atlanta did because he did not
kill his hostage Ashley Smith. Further, we need not discuss or even
have a trial because a good thing happened after he killed four people.
Most clear thinking Americans would not accept this logic
about Nichols so why must they accept it from Bush and his supporters?
Nichols will be tried for murder and called to account
for his actions and so must the Bush Administration and its supporters.
Pointing out the good things in the aftermath of the bad, using them to
rationalize and justify that bad, is wrong and immoral. Supporting Bush in
this war is wrong and immoral.
Millions of Americans are confused because there is a new and warped
definition of morality and Bush-followers believe it
Bush and the GOP (Gay
Old Party) say voters with morals and values elected them and gave a
mandate of support for the Iraq War.
Scary!
If our current morality is like this, let's return to the
"bad old days"!
