On Christmas eve 2003, the FBI sent a message to
almost twenty thousand law enforcement agencies across the U.S. asking them
to check anyone they pull over for an almanac, map or similar reference
materials. They worried citizens might have these items and therefore could
possibly be using them to plan a terrorist attack.
Further the FBI deemed their Intelligence Bulletin
102 as "Law Enforcement Sensitive" meaning they ordered it kept from the
public, the internet or the media. Luckily some American patriots decided to
release the FBI bulletin anyway.
The almanac has been around for over a hundred years
and is an American institution. Now, it is suspicious and possibly illegal
to possess and the millions of Americans who do, are now potential
terrorists.
It also means the Bush Administration believe citizens
who desire to seek answers, do research, and think independently based on
facts and other information are now terrorist suspects and must be stopped.
This signals the death of a free press, free thought
and the start of oppression of all Americans. Who would have thought
traditional information sources would be used against its citizens?
But then, that is the point!
We have come to a time when an Administration can tell
lies as fact and are never under any suspicion as being a threat to
our nation and its freedoms. Now, only the citizen is a threat.
Consider the lies which Bush tries to make into fact:
Bush declaring an "end to combat" in an American
uniform he disrespected in the early 1970s by deserting his post. The "end
to combat" was a political statement and not a fact.
The Bush administration making a big issue of
American troops capturing Saddam Hussein when a Kurdish special forces
unit really made the capture. They insured Hussein was properly contained
in his "spider hole" and then called our troops to pick him up.
Bush holding a "turkey on a platter" prop in Baghdad
during his Thanksgiving visit. To insure a smooth photo op, only specially
selected soldiers were allowed into the dining hall. The photo op was the
point not saluting the troops for their service.
The Bush administration faking the Jessica Lynch
story about her fight to the end to avoid capture and how her captors
abused her. During a national interview on TV, Lynch said those were lies.
The Bush Administration lying repeatedly to start
the Iraq War, and later exposed a CIA agent because her husband found
facts that showed there was no uranium going to Iraq as the Administration
claimed.
When the Bush Administration can blacklist books and
reference materials in the name of national security and claim its
lies are facts, the oppression of Americans is underway.
The collective lies of the Bush Administration is now
our "New Bush Almanac". This will insure no independent thought and
continual suppression of our freedoms.
