Bush Failed to Plan in
Iraq
April 4, 2004
When the U.S. invaded
Iraq in 2003 is used a great military plan to insure success. The plans were
detailed to guarantee the outcome but this was expected since invasion
planning started in early 2001.
Hundreds of our
soldiers have died since the “war ended”.
After the country was
militarily conquered, there was no plan for occupation including political
stability as if military occupation was enough. Now, political instability
has increased in all areas. Even more soldiers have died because of this.
Now, civilians working
for the U.S. have become targets like our soldiers. Recently four were
brutally murdered in Fallujah and their bodies mutilated and burned by
Iraqis. The response will be military but more attacks of this type will
occur.
The Fallujah murders
clearly illustrate this is no longer a military operation.
The religious leaders
in Iraq condemned the body mutilations but not the killings. This shows it
is not a matter of hatred or resentment for their occupiers but general
resentment to anyone in their country. It also shows increasing tensions
related to the handover in June. Disparate groups want to have power in the
new Iraqi government and are willing to kill and destroy to meet their
goals.
This is the start of a
civil war in Iraq. The Bush Administration will not admit this or plan for
it. So, even more soldiers and civilians will die because of their
incompetence.
