State of Nevada's Response to E-mail Blocking
Thanks for taking the time to mail me a
letter concerning your troubles with "Replying" to State of Nevada emails
that were sent to you. I have forwarded your "blocked" emails on to their
intended recipient, xxxx xxxxxxx.
These emails
were blocked by spam blocking software that we are testing for the State
of Nevada's email system, not because of
Hotmail being on the "Dorkslayers" DNSBL list (which we are not using
because they list almost everyone in the entire world as a "spammer"), but
because of "remote images" that were contained in your "Reply".
The problem that you have is that you
are most likely using Outlook Express to check you
"Hotmail" email account and when Outlook Express "Replies" to emails, by
default it includes the "original message" in the reply and also it places
some "remote graphics" into that reply, which our spam blocking software
is blocking.
There are now
instructions in the NDR message that is sent back to people who are having
this problem, so that hopefully they will read the NDR message closely and
be able to resolve this issue by editing their Outlook Express
preferences. Basically what you will
need to do for the time being in order to "Reply" to State of Nevada email
messages, is to open Outlook Express, click on "Tools", "Options", "Send",
uncheck the "Include message in reply" box, click "Apply", and click "OK".
Sorry for any
inconvenience that this has caused you.
Please feel free to contact me immediately if you have any future
problems. Thanks for you time.
