Softball Game Shows
Republicans Like to Play, Not Work
May 8, 2003
On May 5th. some legislators held a baseball game at
Carson City's Centennial Park. Some citizens found out and went to the game
to protest. The protesters wanted their legislators to be at
work, not at play. They wanted them to work on the state's budget crisis,
especially since time is so short with less than a month before the end of
the legislative session.
Their protest was publicized in the Reno-Gazette
Journal on May 8th.
When confronted, some legislators became upset and
claimed they work hard and the game was just a few hours in one day. They
deserved some "time off".
No matter.
The citizen protestors made a point about how some
legislators are playing while most of their colleagues are working hard.
The following is a break down of the legislators
involved in the game including their party affiliation. It appears
Republicans take play more seriously than work.
