Rush Must Still Be On Drugs

December 23, 2003

There has been a lot made of Rush Limbaugh's drug abuse the past few months. He reluctantly announced his drug abuse to his listeners after he was caught. This is understandable, who wants to be held to public ridicule and scrutiny for being a drug user? Who wants to admit to a crime you have criticized others for doing?

The fact is, Rush was using thousands of "prescription required" pain killers without a prescription. This is illegal for you, me and Rush too.

Lately, things have been heating up. The "authorities" want to see his medical records presumably as part of an investigation. A court in Florida ruled against his efforts to keep them secret. Rush is not happy. He is also suggesting his house keeper tried to blackmail him for a large sum and if he didn't pay, bad things would happen. Maybe, but that is a separate though related issue.

His attorney definitely has his hands full with Rush. What's next?

Rush now claims "the Democrats" are out to get him, suggesting a conspiracy to shut him up. Does he mean they forced him to buy drugs to feed his habit and used this as "payback"? Does he imply if Democrats weren't around, he could still be using and abusing without payback for being, well, Rush?

Damned Democrats. Poor Rush.

Rush did the drugs and the crime. Now he must do the time and suffer some bad press. Too bad!

Where can we really find the truth? Well. Rush has the answer! Let's look at part of Rush's 35 "Undeniable Truths", specifically:

14. There's a simple way to solve the crime problem: obey the law; punish those who do not.
15. If you commit a crime, you are guilty.

As read by Rush Limbaugh on his radio show, Friday, February 18, 1994:

Understandably, Rush is upset his medical file is under scrutiny. A tabloid might also publish parts of his file. Rush's problems are happening because he is a big hypocrite without compassion for people who also have "drug issues." and not because his notoriety.

Blaming his woes on the Democrats is ridiculous. He is simply trying to divert attention from a criminal investigation.  To Rush, Democrats and liberals are out to get him, the Republicans, conservatives, Christians and America in general. Unfortunately millions will believe his excuses.

Finally, no one, a Democrat or Republican can shut Rush up. Neither can they ruin his reputation or character. He can do that himself and has done it very well so far.

Rush and his attorney need to revisit #14 and #15 of the "Undeniable Truths" mentioned above. They also need to stop whining and sniveling!

Remember, criminals never run out of excuses for their bad behavior.  Expect more from Rush.
