Pat Robertson Supports EVIL and Worships Money
August 1, 2003
Pat Robertson, the chairman and CEO of the Christian Broadcasting Network
(CBN) and host of "The 700 Club" supports an evil dictator named Charles
Taylor. Taylor is the current "president" of Liberia, a country ravaged by
him, his family and associates.
Robertson believes Taylor is a good guy, has called him a fellow Baptist and
a fine Christian. He says Taylor's criminal indictments are nonsense, and
should be "quashed". He believes the conflicts in Liberia are between
Muslims and Christians fighting for control. He claims to not know about any
atrocities and says such things are based on rumors.
His support for Taylor is unwavering even after being chastised by many
after public criticizing Bush for not supporting Charles Taylor. His website
shows his support and there, he refers to Liberia as a sovereign nation
friendly to the US with a freely elected president. He also says too many
Christian nations are under attack by Muslims and implies this is the main
reason for problems in that country. Robertson also supports Liberia and its
"president" because it is a "Christian nation".
A couple years ago, Taylor declared himself a Christian
and Liberia as a Christian nation. Factually about 38 percent of Liberians
are Christians. This was "good enough" for Robertson who has been building
up a Christian connection between CBN/"700" Club and despot Taylor. This
helps gather donations from unsuspecting believers and legitimizes his
relationship with Taylor. In 2002, Taylor publicly recognized
Robertson his efforts in ministering to and helping Liberians.
Taylor is crafty and uses his Christian label to dupe others to invest in
his country or support it politically such as Jesse Jackson, Jimmy Carter,
the Congressional Black Caucus and many U.S. businessmen. Robertson is in
good company as far as political and business deals.
However, Robertson claims the moral high ground and sets
himself above others. Consequently, millions think he is a discerning
man of God, saved by the "blood of Christ".
Don't believe it. Just think about it for a moment.
Why does Robertson, support a man such as Charles Taylor?
How could he do this in the face of the truth about what has and is
happening in Liberia?
It's all for Money!
And money blinds many to Truth.
Pat Robertson's
support for Taylor started in April 1999 in a business deal. Charles
Taylor assigned gold mining concession rights to Pat Robertson from
businessman, Ken Ross II, who owned a gold-mining operation called Bocon
Jideh. Since then, Robertson has invested millions in a gold mine
venture in Liberia, called Freedom Gold Limited.
Freedom Gold Limited is looking for gold to mine and will
give a three percent royalty to "government of Liberia" (Taylor).
Robertson's company must also spend a half million annually in "investment
and rental fees" to Liberia (Taylor).
Why a gold mine venture in Liberia? Greed!
Robertson believes there could be as much as 5 million
ounces of gold lying under the red Liberian clay, worth about 1.2 billion
dollars. A tidy sum for both Taylor and Robertson, even if half true.
Yet, Robertson claims this venture was for humanitarian reasons on behalf of
Liberians. Nonsense!
It would have been better to use those millions on direct aid to the
Liberians for food, clothing and essentials. It would have meant a lot
to people who have so little.
Dictator Charles Taylor and "Reverend" Pat Robertson call themselves
Christians and do business together for mutual benefit. The problem:
Robertson sees nothing wrong with their relationship!
There is something wrong! Supporting a brutal and
depraved man such as Charles Taylor is un-Godly, un-Christian and immoral.
Here are some highlights of Charles Taylor's moral character documented by
the CIA, Amnesty International, the UN, Human Rights Watch and many others.
1. Indicted for "crimes against humanity" by the UN for
activities even they have found objectionable and actionable.
2 Recruits young boys to kill, loot and do his
bidding. This started when he came to power.
3. Loots his country with impunity, while citizens die in
bloody armed conflicts.
4. Makes business deals with terrorists such as al Qaeda
in addition to Pat Robertson.
5. Tortures and executes political rivals.
6. Does not allow a free press or speech though claims
Liberia's government is based on the U.S. Constitution.
7. Destroys civility and social order. For example, the
capital, Monrovia has no running water, electricity, garbage collection,
public schools, or sewage system. It has just one hospital.
8. Trades diamonds for weapons so the killing can
continue.
9. Creates conflicts and strife. About 200,000 civilians
have been killed since he took power.
10. Has linked up with others to invade Sierra Leone for its diamonds.
In doing so, thousands have died, and many, including children have been
abducted, raped, and tortured. Many are enslaved.
11. Encourages "Boy militias" in Sierra Leone by giving them
guns, cocaine and amphetamines help fuel the slaughter, lowering these
children to depths of depravity rarely seen in adults
12. Supports cutting off of limbs, hands, lips and ears of those who
resist, providing a visible reminder to everyone of the terror that awaits.
14. Sells Al Qaeda his bloody diamonds so they can easily transport
their wealth and finance terrorist attacks.
15. Orders the assassination of people outside his country to silence
them.
By associating with Taylor, Robertson
follows his god..... money, forsaking his promises to Jesus many years ago.
Maybe these two "Christians" can ponder these things after they
die... they certainly will be going to the same place!
