Christian Coalition's Racism
November 12, 2003
The Christian Coalition has a racist core. This came into clear view in 2001
when a group of black female employees sued them for race discrimination.
The women worked in the data entry and remittance departments, accounting for
donations. The Coalition settled the lawsuit and reports showed they did the
following
to their black employees:
◊ Required them to enter the back door of the
coalition's headquarters in Washington, DC.
◊ Denied them health insurance.
◊ Denied them overtime pay.
◊ Forced them to eat in a segregated break room.
Christian Coalition executive
director, Roberta Combs, reportedly said that African-American employees
could not use the kitchen facilities because "they are talkative and waste
too much time in the kitchen."
◊ Excluded them from a Coalition
Christmas party.
◊ Excluded them from Coalition events related to Bush's
inauguration and prayer breakfast.
◊ Retaliated against them for bringing the lawsuit so a
judge had to issue an injunction ordering the Coalition not
to retaliate.
The employees settled for about $325,000 in exchange for
their promise never to talk about the case. This may be a fair
settlement for the employees but it is a great one the Coalition. This
way, they keep the case under wraps, while deceiving the public about
what they really stand for..... a society where every one has their place
and whites have a better one.
The leaders of the Christian Coalition do not see race discrimination as a
fundamental human issue and contrary to what Jesus would have done if He
were leading the Coalition. Their agenda is rooted in white elitism. They
are a political organization that uses Christianity and the Bible as tools
to garner support for their parochial racist agenda.
