Arabs are RacistsMarch 23, 2003
Arabs rejoiced at the terror attacks on 9/11.
Many are radical Muslims so this reaction was expected but in general,
the common Arab citizen is just as fanatical but quieter about it. They see
only positive things in the deaths of thousands of Americans.
They blame the US for the poverty of their governments, bad leadership and
poor economic systems. They do not have democratic governments. They live in
countries that dehumanize them, keep them in poverty, and do not allow their
people the freedom to become what they want to be.
Torture of political prisoners is widespread and commonplace. Further, Arab
regimes repress peaceful protest, permit massive arrests, and restrict free
press by closing newspapers and detaining and imprisoning journalists.
Arabs don't resist those things. They blame America. They don't try to
change their own countries, their leaders or political systems. It is easier
to blame America.
They listen to the "fatwa's" (decrees) of Muslim religious leaders and some
fanatics calling on all Muslims to resist America, which includes killing of
any and all Americans. Many follow these edicts or at least, find it easy to
develop more hatred for America.
I have never heard of any recent Christian religious decree that calls
for the killing of innocent Muslims. But when Muslim leaders do this against
Americans, there is no outrage.
The War on Terrorism is not a religious issue. However, Arabs wrap
everything in terms of Islam and then complain if there is any hint of
Christianity in the decisions or thought process of American leaders. They
can't have it both ways.
The issues in the middle east and in the Muslim world will not be solved
until the Arabs stop their hatred of the US and its people. It's time for
the leaders of all nations to speak out about racism in the Arab world.
